Chef David Kaminski moved to Hawaii over 27 years ago. His training as a chef was developed in Italy where he was taught Italian Cuisine under the direction of the Monati family. In Pennsylvania, Chef David was the owner of a successful catering company, but he longed to live in the Hawaiian Islands and “went west.”
Upon arrival on Oahu, Chef David worked as a corporate sous chef for fourteen years with a Seattle, Washington based company named Restaurants Unlimited who own the popular Honolulu eateries “Ryan’s Grill” and “Kincaid’s.” Chef then left the corporate life, and began a catering business located at The Kailua Racquet Club on the windward side of Oahu. He also became the tennis club’s executive chef for eight years and catered many of the club’s large tournaments.
In 2013, Chef David opened “Bella Bistro” in Kailua offering fresh, contemporary Mediterranean cuisine. His signature style and passion for food is truly evident in every menu offering. And what does the Chef do when he’s not creating gourmet meals? You’ll find Chef David at the North Shore of Oahu with his wife, artist Stephanie Pierobello, swimming and playing with their beautiful chocolate Labrador, named Bella, of course!
