Brulee’ Brie

Here is another great easy appetizer, a wheel of brie caramelized on top like a creme brulee’

  • Cut the top off a wheel of brie and let set out at room temperature 45 – 60 minutes. Sprinkle the top with raw (turbinado cane sugar) using a kitchen torch or if you are like me, my home depot big mama torch and caramelize the sugar.
  • sometimes I have added a thin layer or honey or a fun jam then add the raw sugar and torch, thats if you want to get fancy
  • garnish with fresh berries, fruit, nuts and serve with toasted bread or crackers.
  • I found some great crackers at King Soopers here in Colorado, one was vanilla and the other lemon, really great with this brie.
